All classes are skills-based training designed to help students gain knowledge, skills and confidence to respond in a medical emergency.
CPR and AED
ASHI CPR and AED is a combined CPR and AED program designed specifically for laypeople. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is based upon the 2015 International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR) and other evidence-based treatment recommendations.
Intended Audience: Individuals who do not work in the healthcare field but are occupationally
required to, or desire to, have CPR knowledge and skills, such as:
- Emergency response teams in business and industry
- School bus drivers
- Adult residential care personnel
- Child care workers
- Teachers
- Parents
- Babysitters
- Care Givers
Can be completed as a full in-person class or as blended learning (see flyer below)
First Aid
ASHI Basic First Aid was created to help students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and
the confidence to respond. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace
setting, and is consistent with recommendations of the 2015 National First Aid Science Advisory Board
and OSHA’s best practices for first aid training programs in the workplace.
Intended Audience: Individuals who require or desire elementary first aid knowledge and skills
with a focus on adults, children, or both; including:
- Emergency response teams in business and industry
- School bus drivers
- Adult residential care personnel
- Child care workers
- Teachers
- Parents
- Babysitters
- Care Givers
Can be completed as a full in-person class or as blended learning (see flyer below)

easy option for their students seeking a comprehensive training class. The program helps develop basic
first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid combination

recommendations of the 2015 National First Aid Science Advisory Board and OSHA’s best practices

BLS – CPR for the Professional Rescuer
Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking. ASHI’s BLS training or AHA’s BLS training has been approved for training of Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Intended Audience: American Safety & Health Institutes and American Heart Association BLS
program is designed for individuals in the healthcare or professional rescuer field that are required to have a professional-level basic life support training.

Bloodborne Pathogens
American Safety & Health Institute’s Bloodborne Pathogens program includes information that
will help students understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced
for themselves and others. The program assists in satisfying the training requirements of the U.S.
Department of Labor, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.
Intended Audience: Any individual or employee who has a reasonable anticipation of contact
with blood or other potentially infectious materials as a result of performing designated job duties.
CABS (Child And Babysitting Safety)
The Child and Babysitting Safety program is a community education program that covers child
safety and basic care techniques for infants and children.CABS stresses the priority to keep you and the
children you care for safe. Babysitting is not just “watching” the children, but being responsible for
their safety and well being. When you are caring for a child, you are taking care of a parent(s) most
prized possession. Everything in their home and your own home can be replaced— everything, that is,
except a child.
Intended Audience: Geared towards adolescents, not intended for daycare workers.

Pet First Aid Training
Pet Tech Pet First Aid was created to help students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond to pet emergencies.
Pet Tech PetSaver program includes all of the basic skills PLUS geriatric care, nutrition and dental.
Intended Audience: Individuals who require or desire elementary first aid knowledge and skills with a focus on pets; including:
- Emergency response teams in pet businesses and industries
- Trainers
- Pet Parents
- Petsitters
- Groomers
Wilderness First Aid
Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. With ASHI’s Wilderness First Aid, Instructors certified to teach CPR/AED, basic first aid, and have wilderness experience can take advantage of ASHI’s flexible instructional design.
This comprehensive 16-20 hour course meets the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid curriculum and guidelines.
